Three students from Northeast Maritime Institute's College of Maritime Science built this 17' 4" Northeaster Dory as a final project in their Introduction to Naval Architecture and Stability class. Now the Dory can be yours! The students have decided to raffle off the dory, all proceeds going to the Northeast Maritime Institute Foundation, a non-profit organization providing support and assistance to Mariners to "further their professional education, training and certification needs for advancement in the maritime industry."

The students are very proud of their work and shared plenty more photos from the construction and finished product.

What You Could Win

  • 17' Northeaster Dory

A Chesapeake Light Craft "Northeaster" Dory built by NMI college students as a final project for their Introduction to Naval Architecture class. The dory is 17' 4" long, and is finished in dark blue with a cream interior for a classic New England look. The dory has very traditional lines but was built using modern methods and materials. It surprisingly weighs in less than 200lbs! This classic dory could be yours as part of our raffle to raise money for the NMI Scholarship Fund, helping students begin the path to an exciting future as a Merchant Mariner!
