Teens Aid is the leading national nonprofit organization providing comprehensive dating abuse programs exclusively to young people ages 12 to 24. How We Began

• Teen Aid was founded in Los Angeles, California in 2002. While there were a lot of services for children experiencing abuse by adults and for adults in peer-to-peer abusive relationships, there was a gap in services for young people experiencing abuse in dating relationships. We began to fill that gap by creating teen-specific violence prevention education and providing legal services for youth. In 2008, Teen Aid expanded nationally in response to the need for dating abuse services and programs. Break the Cycle now has staff in Los Angeles, California and the District of Columbia, along with partners, volunteers and supporters across the nation.
