VISION: To build self-esteem, promote responsibility for one’s own actions, demonstrate the importance of academics, provide knowledge of career options, provide professional development training, encourage community involvement, and mental/physical fitness among youth (ages 9-17).

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: Coach G Academy is driven to coach our youth to excellence. Using the philosophies and teachings of long time, famed Tallulah educator and coach Robert Gultery, Coach G Academy will focus on instilling fundamental life values and athletic values in the youth of Madison Parish region. The Academy’s focus is to work with youth between the ages of nine and seventeen.

OBJECTIVES:

• Build self-esteem and self-awareness: To provide resources for at-risk youth by providing them with the skills and tools needed to reach their highest personal and academic potential.

• Promote social awareness: By providing support and advising youth on how to deal with and overcome obstacles in order to reach their goals.

• Engage mentors: To provide positive role models that will guide youth in positive and productive directions.

• Promote volunteerism and community service: By demonstrating the importance of giving of one’s time and energy to worthy initiatives.

• Leadership: Stress the importance and provide opportunities for youth to become positive leaders among their peers.

• Healthy lifestyles: Educate and place value on the importance of incorporating physical and mental health into one’s lifestyle in order to maintain a fit body and mind.
