Yoel's Green School Challenge is to go from Britain to Bali overland, plant a 1000 trees and support the Balinese Scholarship Fund.

Yoel has been offered a place at the Green School and one of his aims is not to fly there. He is home learning at the moment and with our help is planning the journey from Britain to Bali by rail and boat.

The overland trip would not simply be about reducing our carbon footprint or promoting slow travel, but to understand the environmental challenges different countries face, to plant 'compassion' trees, and to inspire other young people to go green. On hearing about this project two generous and talented friends have offered the following items as prizes for a raffle to raise the necessary funds: a beautifully handcrafted copper chair, normally worth $8000 by sculptor, Steve Myburgh, and an exquisite print of one's choice by artist Anita Nowinska, worth up to $1000. We are also including a slim Kobo Touch eReader as a third prize.

At least 10% of the money raised will go towards the Scholarship Fund for the Balinese children at Green School.
