The West Springfield High School (WSHS) Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) is an active organization with the primary purpose of providing support to students, faculty and parents. This is accomplished through various activities and programs.

SpartanFest (http://www.facebook.com/wshsspartafestcraftfair) is an annual fall festival when all the clubs and other activities at West Springfield showcase their organization with food, games, dances or fundraisers for the West Springfield community. It is a fun time for the entire family!

The PTSA sponsors two activities at SpartanFest: a craft fair in which local crafters rent tables from the PTSA to display and sell their crafts; and a second event which will be a raffle this year. Proceeds from the PTSA portion of SpartanFest are used to provide mini-grants to teachers and staff at West Springfield. Last year we raised over $4000 and were able to purchase:
  • Ipads for various departments,
  • a laptop for the sound booth for the Theater Department;
  • a trip to a college fair for the Career Center;
  • a world atlas and primary source readers for the Social Studies Department;
  • classroom materials for the English Department;
  • a Hover Craft project for the Technology Department;
  • and funding for outreach to parents of non-native English speakers.

The drawings will be in the Auxiliary Gym held every 15 minutes on Saturday, October 19th from 1045am to 215pm  at Spartanfest Craft Fair. You do not have to be present to win. Please help us reach our goal and make a donation online today.  The online raffle ticket deals will only be available until midnight October 19th, afterwards raffle tickets will be $2 each at Spartanfest.
