Reins of Grace Therapeutic Riding Center provides equine assisted activities and therapies for special needs riders.  Our rider population consists of children ages 2-years old to 6 years old.  The three-dimensional movement of the horse helps activate and organize nerve and muscular systems, enabling the rider to achieve functional goals and life skills.  The movement of the horse provides a 'workout' second only to swimming in terms of number of muscles used at any given moment in addition to a cardiovascular workout.  Essential core goals of balance, gross motor coordination, fine motor coordination, endurance and strengthening are all developed while the child rides around the arena singing songs and playing games.  The 'workout' is happening but all the rider perceives is the FUN and uniqueness of riding a horse!
