Help Us: to raise money for the Peace Center in order to maintain the rescources needed to run the programs.
The Springfield Peace Center is a small non-profit organization located in Springfield, Ohio. It is the organization's 27th year of being committed to teaching conflict management skills and teaching alternatives to violence. The Peace Center believes peace education can be taught and creates an environment in the camp and clubs which promotes harmony, acceptance of differences and acquiring non-violent problem solving techniques. In addition to the free Annual week long Peace Camp held in June, the Peace Center provides, when funding is available, the following programs:
Peacemaking Skills for Kids presented to 4 and 5 year olds at Rocking Horse Medical Center, St. John's Lutheran schools and others in Springfield
Teaching a series of Alternatives to Violence conflict management lessons at city schools during their health or social studies curriculum.
Parent/Caregiver discussion group that meets year round
Called upon by area schools and colleges to provide diversity and mediation trainings
Recently the Springfield Peace Center lost their biggest grant and are running solely on grants provided from local churches and donations from the community.
