Mizuno Makos are a competitive 12UA fast pitch travel softball team. As an organization, we are committed to (i) teaching the rules and skills required to excel at girls fast pitch softball; (ii) encouraging self-confidence and determination; (iii) teaching our players about the value good sportsmanship and teamwork plays in working toward common goals; and (iv) giving our players the opportunity to donate their time and efforts to help the world around them, even if just in some small way.
To that end, the team is holding its 1st annual fundraising raffle to (i) help defray the cost of equipment, uniforms, training, travel and tournament expenses; and (ii) support our friend Hannah Mullin and her amazing recovery from a rare brain tumor.
Hannah's StoryHannah Mullin is and has been a friend to many of the girls on the team for the past few years. More than a decade ago, Hannah was diagnosed with a rare brain tumor, and after various chemotherapy and radiation treatments, she is now cancer-free. In honor of her amazing "never give up" attitude and dedication to life and the sport of fast pitch softball, the Makos will donate a portion of the net proceeds, in Hannah's name, to the
Brain Tumor Foundation for Children, Inc. Established in 1983 as the first nonprofit organization in the United States to focus on pediatric brain tumor disease, the Brain Tumor Foundation for Children (BTFC) is a high touch organization committed to improving the lives of children and families who are affected.
At the conclusion of the raffle, the team will present Hannah with a check for her to present to the BTFC. For more about Hannah:

The Drawing
Between Friday, September 13, 2013 and Sunday, October 13, 2013, about 500 tickets will be sold to enter this raffle. Your chances of winning one of the multiple guaranteed prizes are 1 in 500, but your odds improve with every ticket you buy, as do the opportunities for Hannah and the girls on our team to participate in local, state, and national competitions.
The drawing for all prizes will take place at the Fish Bowl during the Sunday's NFL games on October 13. You need not be present to win, but are encouraged to come to the Fish Bowl to enjoy some food, friends and football.
