Since 1980, Arts Are Elementary (AAE) has been dedicated to its mission to educate and inspire the children of Brunswick by bringing performers, artists, writers and musicians into the schools and community.  We believe the arts enhance classroom learning and foster creative expression and critical thinking. Through AAE every K-5 classroom gets its very own resident artist. Please help us raise funds to bring these fabulous artists to our community's youngest learners.

What You Could Win

  • "View from the Rocks" art quilt by Catherine Worthington

Local textile artist Catherine Worthington’s art quilts are always among the first pieces to fly off the walls at the annual 10x10 Benefit Art Exhibit & Sale. This particular piece features a gorgeous seascape of Maine’s rocky shoreline. Catherine describes her creative process on her website (earthtonesandfishbonesart.com) as beginning with surface design on canvas or cotton. She paints the fabric using a variety of surface design techniques and then creates her images by cutting, painting, printing and hand stitching. The result is a stunning, multi-layered design that invites viewers to step closer and experience the rich texture and depth of the image.

This 14”x15 1/2” piece has finished edges and is ready to hang. It can be framed, but the artist prefers to hang her work freely, unframed.

Note: If you win the raffle but do not live locally, we will ship the piece anywhere in the continental U.S.A.
