WHY I'M DOING THIS

1. Fantastic humanitarian cause, 2. My health.

Last week I made a commitment that some may view as "crazy".
I was a bit convicted and then challenged to ride a bicycle over 200 miles, in 2 days, this coming February in the 207Miles ride for 1Mission. So I committed to doing it.

Here's the crazy part if you do not know me. I am overweight, totally out of shape, and have always struggled with diet and exercise. Also I do not own a "road bike". But I love speed and cycled in my early 20's for a few years. So this is a great goal to get my life on the healthy track. And what better way to do it for a great cause.

I want to be clear that the proceeds of this raffle are to go towards purchasing my bicycle and gear. The funds are not going to 1Mission. That will be a later fundraising campaign.

ALL FOR A GREAT CAUSE

207Miles is a fundraising event for 1Mission.org. More than 50 cyclists will ride over 200 miles in 2 days from Peoria, AZ to Puerto Penasco, Mexico to raise money and awareness for 1Mission. Last year 40+ riders on 207Miles raised $45,000 for 1Mission.

1Mission is a nonprofit giving people living in poverty the opportunity to earn a house by serving in their community. 100% of public donations go directly to 1Mission field programs. And so far, more than 175 houses have been built since 2008, with more than 23,000 hours served by home recipients.

DETAILS ON THE 6L SILVER OAK AND OTHER WINES

The very large, 6 Liter bottle of 2000 Silver Oak, Napa Valley is a perfect bottle for a major life-event celebration or business dinner or event. It was purchased in 2008 from a reputable wine store's walk-in cellar in Phoenix. The bottle was immediately transported and placed into our Eurocave wine cellars. Which is where it has been since the purchase. You can see more photos on the bottle in this album

Additionally, I will be raffling off other great bottles of wine, in regular 750ml formats. 2nd place is a 1996 Silver Oak Napa Valley which I have had stored since it's original release. The other two bottles are rare Williams Selyem, single vineyard bottles, which are 92-94 point Pinot Noir's.

You won't be disappointed with any of these wines.

HOW THE RAFFLE WILL WORK

Regardless of our goal being met or not, on October 5, 2013 we will print all of the raffle tickets from the RaffleCreator.com system. These tickets will be named and numbered by RaffleCreator.com. We will then use Random.org to pull the winning raffle tickets. The first and second numbers drawn will receive the 750ml 2007 William Selyem bottles of wine. The third number drawn will receive the 750ml 1996 Silver Oak. And the 4th ticket (the Golden Ticket) will be the grand prize winner of the 6 Liter 2000 Silver Oak.

OUT OF STATE WINNERS

In the event that a winner does not live in Arizona, we will wait until November (when the weather cools down) to ship the bottles of wine. Small bottles will include shipping to the 48 States. The 6 Liter bottle will be properly packaged costs for packaging will be covered. However, due to the large size, actual shipping costs will need to be paid by the winner if they are located outside of Arizona.
