Bricolage Academy is an inclusive,
public, and open-admission New Orleans charter school that opened in August of
2013 with a 76-student kindergarten class. Bricolage is currently serving 150
kindergarten and first grade students and plans to grow to a 675 kindergarten –
eighth grade school by 2021.
Bricolage Academy’s mission is to
advance educational equity by preparing students from diverse backgrounds (43%
low-income, 41% African American) to be innovators who change the world. In
short, Bricolage exists for two reasons: to advance educational equity and
create innovators.
Bricolage
builds on the success of excellent schools of all kinds- traditional public
schools, high performing charter schools and independent schools – combining
the best parts of each to forge a new path toward educational equity and
excellence for all students.
On October 9th, come raise a glass to support Bricolage Academy. The Bricolage Community Association will host a Drinkolage Happy Hour at the Rusty Nail (1100 Constance Street). This event is open to the public. Please bring thirsty friends and colleagues - 20% of all bar proceeds will be donated to Bricolage Academy. Live music will be provided by the Yat Vipas.
