A Word About Our Friend, Winkie Durham
Winkie has been a vital part of the Club at 12 Oaks since it opened. She was one of the original staff members who ran the cafe in the early years, and she was a key contributor in keeping the Poolside Pub running smoothly until Chef Bill came on board. Winkie worked in the Pub until she transferred into the Accounting office this year to assist Bonnie Perloff.
Sadly, Winkie was recently diagnosed with colon and liver cancer. She has been undergoing chemotherapy and radiation, all the while working as much as she can. Her medical expenses have been accumulating and the emotional strain on her family has been incredibly difficult. Her husband has been doing as much as he can to bring in extra income, but the expenses are coming in faster than the paychecks.
Despite these challenges, Winkie still has a smile on her face and remains optimistic and determined to beat the cancer. We all have so much to be thankful for; let's rally together to love and support her family during their time of need in this season of giving.

If you have any questions, email Heather at [email protected].
Thank you for supporting Winkie!!! And thanks to the many kind community members and local businesses that have donated items and services for this raffle. It wouldn’t have been possible without your generosity.
We also want to recognize Hope Community Church for inspiring our original fundraising plan through its Mina Project. For this project, Hope has distributed $100,000 to church members across the Triangle, along with the charge that they engage the community to grow the money and direct it toward worthy causes. We are grateful for the Church’s inspiration and support, and we are so glad to have the opportunity to help such a wonderful person and her family.
Happy Holidays,
The Bells, The Quinns & The Greenbaums
