For 2015, we have chosen to support the Isabella Santos Foundation’s
fight against pediatric cancer. At two years old, Isabella Santos was
diagnosed with a rare form of pediatric cancer called Neuroblastoma.
This terrible disease has a survival rate of just 40%. For 5 years,
Isabella fought bravely, but on June 28th, 2012, at just 7 years old,
she surrendered. Isabella’s parents did everything right, and yet, they
simply ran out of options to save their little girl because pediatric
cancer research is tragically underfunded. The Isabella Santos
Foundation was established to find a cure for Neuroblastoma.
In
honor of Isabella, Ballantyne Ball is donating net proceeds from our
inaugural gala to the Isabella Santos Foundation, to further its efforts
to bring new research and treatment options to Levine Children’s
Hospital of Charlotte.
