We are the Girls under 12 AYSO Extra Team from Santa Monica, CA  and we want to ask you to PLEASE  help send our soccer team, THE SANTA MONICA SAINTS, to Sweden!!!  In July of 2015, the Saints are going to compete at The Gothia Cup in Gothenburg, Sweden!  It’s the largest youth tournament in the world, with over 1,600 teams from more than 70 countries!  It’s like the World Cup for kids!!  The Opening Ceremony is in a stadium with over 50,000 people!!!  We’ll be competing in the Girls Under 13 Division, and we want to do our country proud!!

But we aren't going to Sweden just for the soccer; we are going so that we can meet kids from all over the world and make new friends! Many of the teams that travel to Sweden will be coming from poorer countries that don't have all the opportunities that we do.  That's why we'll be bringing soccer gear from our "Pass It On" program at AYSO Region 20  that collects old uniforms, cleats, shin guards and soccer balls and donates them to families in need.  This tournament will allow us the opportunity to spread our donations to the many Third-World teams in attendance.

So why do we need help?  It’s a long way to Sweden, and there are 15 girls on the team! Our goal is to make the financial burden to each family as small as possible so that we can all go and have an experience of a lifetime and give back to others!
