The Grand Prize Raffle for this year's Beantown Invitational Charity Golf Tournament, is back and better than ever. This year's event will be held at Renaissance Golf Club in Haverhill, MA, on June 20, 2016. The Grand Prize is a trip to the Abaco Club in the Bahamas courtesy of Southworth Golf. The winner will receive lodging for 4 at The Abaco Club for 4 days/3 nights along with golf and airfare credit thru JetBlue. We will have at least 20 additional prizes valued at over $100. Prizes range from gift cards to restaurants, foursomes at private and public golf courses, and much more.
All proceeds of these raffle sales will benefit 4 year old, Elle Armitstead, recently diagnosed with Leukemia. On March 29th, Elle was taken to her pediatrician with a low-grade fever and a rash. Within hours she was taken to Tufts Medical Center, where she was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. During surgery to have a port (used to administer chemo) placed, the surgeon punctured the main vein in her chest and she required open-heart surgery to find and fix the hole. Elle will be in the hospital for at least a month and has a long road of treatment ahead of her.
Marie C. Petrilli Cancer Research and Treatment Memorial Fund, a 501(c)(3) charity based in Winthrop, MA. Our goal is to raise $100,000 thru the Grand Prize raffle. More information on the event can be found at www.mariecpetrilli.com. Over the last 15 years since the inception of the fund, we have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars through our fundraising efforts. As a result,we have been able to award 33 Oncology Nurse Scholarships at MGH and we have given $70,000 in grants for renovations for cancer patients lounges. We have also given $20,000 towards research. The largest contributions have been to those daily personal requests that we receive from cancer patients, family members, social workers, and organizations who support cancer patients.
The drawing will be held on June 20, 2016, at approximately 6:30PM. You do not need to be in attendance to win.

Elle's parents, Derek and Jessica, are amazing. Since having children, Derek has worked to support his family, so that Jessica can stay home with Elle, Abbey (3 years old) and baby number 3 (Jessica is due in May!). With Elle in the hospital, Derek has had to be away from work so that they can switch between being home maintaining a sense of normalcy for Abigail and with being with Elle in the hospital. With Elle’s demanding treatment schedule and the new baby on the way, Derek’s time away from work will be extended.
Our goal is rally friends, family and our community to help relieve the financial anxiety during this difficult time. Please help Elle in her courageous battle against cancer. Every little bit will help. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
