Veterans helping veterans.
GreenCorps International (GCI) is a 501(c)(3) organization with the goal to combat veteran homelessness. Our mission is to provide
housing and
employment opportunities for veterans transitioning out of the military. These two essential resources are key to keeping our brothers and sisters from being homeless.
We believe in teamwork.
Our goal is simple: coordinate employment and housing opportunities between skilled veterans and motivated businesses throughout our country. Our first proof-of-concept housing operation is set to kick off in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. We plan to open up two follow-on housing operations in Charlotte and Hubert, North Carolina. Each housing operation will assist three to four veterans during either training or full-time employment in the transportation industry.
We believe in an proactive approach to combatting homelessness.
The root cause for veteran homelessness begins with a lack of synchronized housing and employment opportunities during a service member's transition to the civilian sector. It doesn't sound like a big deal, but the transition from the military to the civilian sector is one of the most important and greatest challenges in a military person's life. By affording them housing resources while they are transitioning to a new job, sets them up for a successful transition out of the military.
We believe in sustainable communities.
GreenCorps International needs your help in raising funds to support housing operations across the country. Help us create a new paradigm in the way veterans transition to the our communities. Together, we can build better communities that prevent veteran homelessness.
