Dear friends,

Hello - this is Anya and Mira Schwartzburg here. As some of you might know, our dad Oleg has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer called sarcoma in November 2013. Sarcoma cancer is very rare and very stubborn and therefore exceptionally difficult to beat, plus it spreads very, very quickly.

He has now been through a cycle of radiotherapy and two chemotherapy rounds, but sadly, with no success. As of today, the tumours have spread all over his body, because NONE of the local treatments the doctors in Canada offered helped him. Canadian medicine left him close to no hope. The only hope he currently has is an innovative treatment only available at a clinic in Germany. The name of the clinic is Medias Klinikum near Munich, where after review of my dad’s medical results, Dr. Aigner has accepted our dad as a patient and told us this treatment is his last chance for survival. For it to work, Dr. Aigner recommended at least three rounds of treatments, each costing $30,000US. Our dad left to Germany on August 15 and started treatment on August 19.

We are asking for your support to help us save our dad. If you witnessed cancer in your family or close circle of friends, you would know what we are talking about and how our family feels. Helpless and lost, but we don’t want to lose hope and this new treatment sounds very promising and is our last opportunity to save our dad’s life. Oleg is still so young – he is only 61 years old. All his life he worked as a doctor himself and dedicated his profession to helping people and saving lives. He deserves a chance to live for us – his children, his wife, his 4-year-old granddaughter, and for all those he helped treat.

Because of his progressing disease, he currently can no longer work, and even drive – daily tasks became an extreme challenge for him, as he is in severe pain and lost sensation and mobility in his right arm and has trouble walking. Because both our parents are self-employed, they didn't have any additional insurance, such as critical illness, to count on, so they now need any financial support possible to help them get through this trying and challenging time.

We're asking for your support during this difficult time for our family. Your participation in this raffle and contributions would be much appreciated and would make this fight a bit easier.
