Help Us: We saved nearly 500 dogs and puppies in 2015! Due to all of our rescue efforts, our vet bill has skyrocketed. Help us pay our bills so we can continue this life saving work!
Hank came to Cause for Paws frail, hungry, and alone. Although he had only been on this earth for two short years, he had known neglect and abuse. Transferred from one home to the next, only to be dropped off at the shelter, you would think Hank would be wary of his rescuers, but this was not the case. Hank immediately settled into rescued life with his fosters! He received vet care, and Cause for Paws discovered he has EPI, a treatable, but lifelong disease. Hank began his medication and now, after only several weeks, he is a shining star! He has learned sit, down, and stay; he has learned to love his foster dog siblings and to accept his foster cat siblings. Thanks to Cause for Paws, Hank is preparing for his future in a furever home!
This is Slim. Slim is a 7 month old Pointer mix who was taken in by a pound in Kentucky, who knew he needed special, immediate care. We agreed to take Slim (how could we not?) and saw first-hand the effects from the horrible abuse he endured. He is still too sore to wear a collar or even be held for x-rays, due to the trauma in his neck. Slim is with a generous foster that is nursing him back to health. Even with how mistreated Slim was, he is the sweetest and most loving pup a person could ask for. He wants to please people so badly! You can tell he wants to be a puppy but right now just isn't physically able. Slim will be up for adoption once he begins to heal.
Layla was pulled from a Kentucky kill shelter with severe mange and broken teeth. She also tested positive for heartworm. Thanks to Cause for Paws and a kind-hearted volunteer who took her in for 6 months during treatment, Layla recovered and is a healthy pup. This is Layla with her new mom, just happy as can be! Fostering saves lives. Here is a before and after photo of Layla:
