Trans youth are a pretty high-risk category, and the past few years have been pretty rough for Sage.

Having undertaken Discovery myself as a wayward teen, I feel certain it will give him the tools to develop a sense of empowerment and positivity.

Discovery is a seven day camp designed to change the lives of teens and their families.

The Discovery activity-based experiences are fun, positive and high-energy and explore how to be successful in all areas of life. They are non-religious and, with a staff/teen ratio of 1:3, teens learn tools for now and the future all while having fun and making new friends.

Topics such as connecting with people, making friends, goal setting and achievement, taking responsibility, self-awareness and understanding others, and making healthy choices are put into action. The definition of ‘healthy’ includes healthy for my long-term future and my aspirations.

The last day of the programme includes a one day parent workshop giving parents an overview of their teenager’s DISCOVERY experience and a chance to explore parenting and relating to their teenager.
