The Shepherd's Center of Kansas City, Kansas is an interfaith, multicultural nonprofit organization that promotes and supports successful aging. Shepherd's Center provides 13 services that reach more than 1,200 people in Wyandotte County, focusing on health enrichment, education and home services. These programs and services include:

Adventures in Learning: A monthly learning series held at First Baptist Church (29th & Minnesota) on the third Friday of every month.

Creative Classes: Classes that focus on the arts, life skills and special interest topics.

Health Screenings and Classes: Monthly blood pressure checks, eye pressure, and hearing screenings are some of the services available on a periodic basis.

Vial of Life: A program that provides important information for medical personnel in the event of an emergency.

Minor Repair and Referral Services: Volunteers help with minor home repair for older persons.

Friends for Seniors: A friendly visitor program for homebound older adults.

Caring Calls: Volunteers who make weekly calls to homebound seniors.

The Shepherd's Center partners with local congregations and numerous agencies within Wyandotte County. The Shepherd's Center is unique in that it is predominantly directed by volunteers.
