Ashley Abernethy's Purple Star Foundation is dedicated to raising awareness and finding a cure for SinoNasal Undifferentiated Carcinoma (SNUC).  Founded in 2010, Ashley was diagnosed with sinus cancer in May of 2009.  Knowing little about SNUC we embarked on treatment only to find out that we were dealing with a very rare and aggressive cancer.  Treatment is extensive and the after effects take a toll on patients health and appearance.  Sadly, Ashley lost her battle after a brave 7 month fight.  Ashley's wish was that no one else had to suffer like she did and thus the foundation. 

To date Ashley's foundation has raised over $150,000 for research and to help other SNUC patients.  We've supported research at MD Anderson Cancer Center, KU Cancer Center and Cayman Biomedical Research Organization.  We've provided transportation, housing, hearing aids and other services for patients across the country.  Ashley would be proud. Treatment protocols are improving, but we still need to do more.
