It is time to raffle our LOVED Piper J3 Cub. We acquired the aircraft from the previous owner in New Jersey a couple years ago. Since then, it has been hangared at Wings Field (Original home of AOPA). The Cub has provided a great introduction to flight to many students and adult volunteers and has flown over 100 hours, and has been very reliable and most of all, FUN.
Stratus Aviation Foundation encourages and enables people in the local community to pursue their aviation passions. Volunteer mentors introduce students to building aircraft, provide discovery flights, and give career guidance in the aviation and engineering field. We have completed a Vans RV12 aircraft and currently have another RV12 and Rans S7 in the building stage. Temple University Engineering has also partnered with the foundation to build a full motion Cirrus flight simulator which we hope to have certified as an AATD by the end of 2020.
In order to continue our mission we need to raise funds to carry us through 2020-2022 Proceeds will go towards our monthly hangar rental, our scholarship fund, completing another light sport kit, and help assist with the purchase of another basic vintage aircraft that will be used to introduce more students to FLIGHT! We truly hope that you believe in our mission, and most of all we are excited to see the face on the winner of the most famous aircraft produced.
Ticket sales limited to only 2,500 tickets.
Due to covid-19 ticket sales have been extended and announcement will follow at sun n fun regardless of tickets sold. If tickets are sold out prior to April 16, 2021 raffle winner will be announced within 30 days of sold out /2,500 tickets sold.
