Because of a Dog helps police, municipalities, and ACO's with items for the strays (food, treats, blankets, crates). We also supply slip leads to police (2 slip leads per police vehicle) and have so far outfitted over 250 police vehicles with slip leads! We also help the strays that need medical care by providing funding thru fundraisers. We also help individuals with food for their companion pets and at times we try to help with emergency medical costs to individuals. All medical bills are paid directly to the treating veterinarian practice.

Right now we are trying to raise funds to help Bella, a gorgeous brindle pit bull who is about 18 months old. She was playing with a stick and running and stabbed herself in the throat - from the inside. This happened the end of Oct and by the end of Nov she had developed a small lump which grew progressively larger. She now has 2 pockets of cellulitis. The estimate for surgery is $2100-2150. We have reached out to another veterinarian and we have another estimate for $1600. Bella's owner is currently paying for previous medicals/testing for this injury.
