Hank was adopted from a local shelter on 12/26/2021. Unbeknownst to the adopter, Hank had major medical issues. Three weeks after adoption Hank had to have a full dental surgery with tooth extraction and his teeth are permanently stained from tartar. On 04/26/2022 his adopter contacted BOAD for help with his medical issues and provided BOAD with all his shelter and independent veterinary records. His skin was a mess of pustules, dry and oily combined, flaky skin, hair loss. BOAD fixed that with a high quality ($$$) food specifically for the skin and food allergies (initial food of a case of wet and bag of dry donated by Slate Belt Animal Advocacy Group) and we supplied Hank with a special Manuka/Kanuka soap from New Zealand which helped a lot. We had found out on his shelter notes (adopter received those the day after adoption) that Hank also had torn cruciates. But Hank could not have surgery until his skin was cleared up. On 05/21/2022 we sent Hank to Animal Therapy Center to be evaluated for weight loss program as he was severely overweight. On 05/25/2022 we sent Hank to Galindo Veterinary Surgery Orthopedics to have his right hind leg operated on - Dr Galindo performed MPL surgery (unfused the knee) (Dr G believes this was a congenital condition for Hank) and performed TPLO (torn cruciate). Hank also had severe muscle wasting in his right hind leg. On 11/08/2022 Hank goes in for his (hopefully) last round of surgeries with Dr Galindo performing MPL and TPLO surgeries on Hank's left knee and cruciate.  Thank you to our wonderful supporters for helping Hank!
