I am setting up this raffle to help my mom promote her artwork. Teresa, my mom, has been painting for over 20 years. She has developed her own technique to provide a unique approach to creating these paintings.
Besides being very creative and original in her approach, her past styles of painting become obsolete as her technique progresses. This makes the pieces she has created in the past limited to that style during that period. For better lack of words, they become relics of that time period.
Most of her artwork is created out of her imagination and not from pictures. Just a few of her paintings are the inspiration of photos she has taken herself. Her artwork is loved by the few who have seen it. My mom has sold very few of her original paintings as once they are sold, she feels sad she will no longer have them. This has created the starving artist scenario I am trying to help fix.
We took 15 of the most loved paintings and had professional pictures taken so they could be recreated as Giclees. Giclee is a french term which means to spray in ink. Limited Editions of below 400 have proven to have excellent resale value in the art Market. Once the Edition is sold out, most Giclees will continue to increase in value as the image will be unavailable anywhere else.
This raffle is raffling off a Giclee printed on bamboo of a pastel drawing she created from a photo she took in Sedona 2008. She created this artwork the same year she took the photo. I was with her in Sedona when the photo was taken and the artwork was created. It holds a sentimental value to me as well as that was a difficult period in my life I was also going through.
We have priced this Giclee at $1700, but for only $20, you can enter to win this painting. This Giclee is only 10 of 25. Once this edition is sold out, it will never be reproduced on bamboo again.
