We are the London Cycling Club, made up mainly of cyclists from all parts of London, offering free membership, with free cycle rides on midweek evenings and weekends to suit varying abilities. 

We started the group about a year ago because of our passion and commitment for bicycles, with only a few members at the beggning we now have over 300 members this year and counting! 

Earler this year we started a committee of leaders who will help run the social club and organise rides.

There is a big social element to our rides, and we aim to get more people cycling, by making them fun with interesting themes and routes with great scenery and stops.

To keep our open club going, we need to raise money to be able to provide some basic equipment for some of our new members and ride leaders; such as lights, hi-vis vests and bells. Once the new members become accustomed to cycling and have decided to continue (most never go back!), we pass this equipment onto other new joiners. 

As you can imagine, the costs forked out initially when buying a bike are fairly steep for a new activity, with safety equipment and accessories also adding up to sometimes unaffordable rates for many. 

We see cycling as an inclusive activity, and wish for it to remain to be. We also would like our ride leaders to have phone holders for navigating,  portable battery packs and two way radios  so that they can successfully continue to lead rides for the benefit of those attending rides. It allows the leaders to navigate fully using  their own devices for the duration of a ride.

So come and join us for a ride on a midweek evening or weekend in London, or outside of London on some of our longer rides. We very much appreciate what you can give, to go to an activity that is inclusive to all, has great health benefits and enables many to live happier lives.
