In honor of Brianna, we (Team Brianna) will be participating in the American Foundation for Suicide Preventions Carroll County Out of the Darkness Walk. We have walked the past two years. This year, we are finding it to be more difficult that the last few, as it is being held on the day Brianna passed away. Collectively, as a family we decided that September 9th was chosen for a reason and it's exactly how Brianna would have wanted it. We hope to see many familiar and just as many new faces this year. The monies we raise for the AFSP goes directly towards: -Funding scientific research -Educating the public about mental health and suicide prevention -Advocating for public policies in mental health and suicide prevention -Supporting survivors of suicide loss and those affected by suicide We have found it a great way to honor Brianna's memory. She loved helping others (human and animal) and we know that she is proud of us for being advocates for suicide prevention and raising more awareness. Brianna's time here was far to short, but she managed to do many things. You can find her biography here: https://thestoriesbetween.com/stories/brianna-izquierdo Brianna loved butterflies, so what better way to raise funds for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, than by making a quilt! This quilt is handmade by myself and professionally longarm quilted by Deb Curtis of Simply Stashing Fabric & Quilts in Littlestown, PA. If you look closely, you can see that it is quilted with butterflies, in rainbow thread. The quilt is approximately 63"x72". We appreciate your support and hope you are the winner of our 1st quilt raffle!
