In Summary: We lost everything to a mold toxicity in our apartment. The girls and I are with family while my husband is in Texas, completing follow-up appointments from a bi-lateral Carpal Tunnel surgery.

We moved to Texas, in 2015, to make a better life for our family.

A year and a half after moving, we were elated to find a two-bed, two-bath apartment; after living in a 770sq ft. studio apartment.

Our excitement slowly changed to fatigue and illness. We were seeing specialists and doctors on a regular basis, trying to figure out why our family was constantly getting sick. The results always came back with an illness, followed by confusion as to how the illness came on so quickly and the cause of said illnesses.

One specialist I was seeing on a regular basis was an allergist. We found out that I had a mold and dust allergy (not simply hay-fever or seasonal allergies).

I had gone into anaphylactic shock once and after my second anaphylactic reaction; we hired a private mold inspector to test our apartment. We did so after my allergist had informed us that mold must be highly present in one of my environments; due to my reacting so severely to our agreed upon treatment.

The apartment complex had not pursued proper mold remediation. Unfortunately, this meant that when the labs came back; from our private inspector, toxic mold was found in the apartment. We literally left our apartment the day of the inspection.

My husband stayed locally, as he was recovering from bi-lateral carpal tunnel surgery (as an apprentice, this also meant no income during recovery) and had follow-up appointments. He also took care of things with the apartment. Thankfully, within 24 hours the girls and I were flown out-of-state to stay with family.

Within the last week and a half our health has made drastic turns in a positive direction.

We are still states apart from my husband and the girls dad. We lost 98% of our belongings and have no where to call home.

This raffle (donated by a sweet friend) will go directly towards a down-payment/deposit on a new place of residence; so that our family can be together again.
