Swineaux’s previous bourbon raffles have been epic!  

Two years ago we brought you the Old Rip Van Winkle 25 year bottle raffle that raised $37,500 for Hogs for the Cause, a non-profit which raises money for families with a child suffering from pediatric brain cancer.  ( https://hogsforthecause.org/ )

Last year we raffled a barrel of Eagle Rare, and a VIP trip to Buffalo Trace to pick the barrel.  We raised another $30,000 for children with pediatric brain cancer,
 
 As a result of these raffles and other fund-raising, Hogs dedicated and opened a hotel at New Orleans Children's Hospital this year to provide lodging for families with a child being treated at the hospital.  ( https://hogsforthecause.org/hogs-house/ )

THE CHARITY

Hogs for the Cause is an annual Charity BBQ competition in New Orleans, LA to raise money for families with a child suffering from pediatric brain cancer. It started 12 years ago on a whim and raised a few hundred dollars.

Over the next 11 years, the charity and event have grown exponentially and the administration of the charity proceeds has been turned over to Children's Hospital in New Orleans.

Just over a year ago, Hogs for the Cause cut the ribbon on a new hotel at Children's Hospital in New Orleans. The hotel provides 14 suites for families of patients at the hospital, something that was sorely lacking in the past.  If Swineaux crosses the $100,000 mark, a room will be dedicated at the new Children’s Hospital Hotel to Team Swineaux.

In past years our team, Swineaux, has raised nearly $100,000 that flowed straight through to Hogs. Swineaux is completely a volunteer effort. Hogs for the Cause has one employee, the founder, who had to quit his job to run the charity.

I have had an opportunity to see the real people who are helped by Hogs for the Cause, and, unfortunately, one of my close friends was the first person to use one of the hotel suites.
