5.jpg138.55 KB Hogs for the Cause is a non-profit organization that hosts an annual music and BBQ festival to raise money for pediatric brain cancer outreach services. Each year over 80 teams will compete to be crowned the Louisiana Pork Champion. Please support our team Mr. Pigglesworth by donating at our website or purchasing raffle tickets (www.mrpigglesworthbbq.com). While teams battle it out on the grill, music will be playing throughout the day and into the night. The party starts Friday April 5, 2024 at 3:30pm with live music that goes on all night. Saturday April 6, 2024 events start at 11:30am and sees the competition, public sampling and even more music!
Winners will be drawn at the event around 5pm on April 6, 2024 and they do not need to be present to win! Additional tickets can also be purchased at the event! _______________________________________________________________
Our first prize is a very popular smoker (Apache) valued at $4000 and kindly donated by Black Warrior Smokers (www.blackwarriorsmokers.com). This is one of their more popular outdoor cooking units. It comes equipped with an expanded metal wood box, firebox, reverse flow smoker barrel, vertical smoker/warming cabinet, and a propane burner. This entire unit is built in house. It has a square tube trailer frame that is sitting on a 3,500 pound axle. The entire unit is painted with a high temperature paint rated for 1,000 degrees. This unit requires a 2” ball and a standard 4 pole light hook up.
Our second prize is a very rare bottle of William Larue Weller Limited Edition Barrel Proof Bourbon. This bottle is valued at approximately $2000. "Uncut and unfiltered, this hand-bottled bourbon is barrel proof. Weller substitutes wheat for the traditional rye grain, a production method pioneered by W.L. Weller."
Our fourth prize is a Large Big Green Egg kindly donated by Bassil's Ace Hardware!
