Win an AMAZING Trophy Bull Elk Hunt on
The Nature Conservancy’s legendary
Zumwalt Prairie Preserve in Northeastern Oregon! The winning hunter and up to 2 non-hunting guests will have the rare opportunity to experience a fully guided hunt in this trophy unit for three days during the 2018 Oregon bull elk rifle season!
On-site lodging included in an updated historic ranch house with solar-powered electricity, full indoor plumbing (supplied by local spring) and full kitchens.
More about the hunt: This will be a 3-day guided bull elk rifle hunt for one hunter on the 33,000-acre
Zumwalt Prairie Preserve in Northeast Oregon during the fall 2018 season (dates TBD; likely November), including lodging on location at the Preserve. The hunter may bring up to two non-hunter guests. Hunting is entirely on foot and hunters should be in good physical condition. The property contains steep slopes and can be physically challenging to hunt. Recently, hunter success rates have been close to 100% for this tag. Mature bulls are common and the average taken are well over 300 inches.
The Preserve is part of the largest remaining intact Pacific Northwest bunchgrass prairie in North America. The number of elk on the
Zumwalt Prairie has increased significantly over the past two decades. In the spring of 2017, ODFW counted 2,915 elk within the Zumwalt unit, and it estimates there are more than 4,500 elk in the larger Chesnimnus Management Unit (which includes Zumwalt Prairie).
Restrictions: food, beverages, gear, and gratuity not included, neither is transportation to the Preserve, but once there, the guide will provide transportation. For the winner, the elk tag is guaranteed, but the hunter is responsible for license and tag fees. The hunt takes place during the fall 2018 season only; arrangements must be made by April 1, 2017.
