Win an AMAZING Trophy Mule Deer Hunt on The Nature Conservancy’s legendary Zumwalt Prairie Preserve in Northeastern Oregon!

The winning hunter and up to two non-hunter guests will have the rare opportunity to experience a fully guided hunt in this trophy unit for three days during Oregon's  2022  rifle deer season!

This year, the Oregon Chapter of Backcountry Hunters and Anglers will be donating 100% of the proceeds towards future phases of the Minam River Wildlife Area project and to trail maintenance/development projects that will expand backcountry hunting and angling opportunities in Wallowa County.


The Hunt: This will be a 3-day guided Buck Deer rifle hunt for one hunter on the 33,000-acre Zumwalt Prairie Preserve in Northeast Oregon during the fall 2022 season (dates TBD; likely November), including lodging on location at the Preserve. The hunter may bring up to two non-hunter guests. Hunting is entirely on foot and hunters should be in good physical condition. The property contains steep slopes and can be physically challenging to hunt. Recently, hunter success rates have been close to 100% for this tag.

Tickets are $25  or  5 for $100

1500 tickets will be offered.


  • This raffle is open to all legal hunters, including nonresidents. Contact ODFW to see if exclusions apply to you.
  • The prize winner must provide an Oregon hunter ID# no later than April 1, 2022.
  • The location of the drawing will be announced no later than March 15 and will be open to the public.
  • Tickets are limited to 100 per individual purchaser.

More about the hunt:
On-site lodging is included in an updated historic ranch house with solar-powered electricity, full indoor plumbing (supplied by local spring), and full kitchens.

Food, beverages, gear, and gratuity not included, neither is transportation to the Preserve, but once there, the guide will provide transportation. For the winner, the tag is guaranteed, but the hunter is responsible for license and tag fees. The hunt takes place during the fall 2022 season only; arrangements must be made by April 1, 2022.
