Dear Friends and Family,

If you're receiving an invitation to this raffle, you know my story.  I've dreamed about playing professional golf since I was about nine years old.  I've always used golf as a way to change my corner of the world - raising money and awareness for charities like the Child Cancer Fund and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's Sixty-Five Roses Tournament.  While I'm focused on succeeding inside the ropes, my immediate goal is to help people outside the ropes by being the role model for young girls and women proving that they, too, can reach their dreams.

I can't wait to write big checks to charities like Child Cancer Fund and the American Association of Depression & Anxiety.  In the meantime...I am personally asking for your support to help me to get to place where I can.

My best golf is in front of me and with the singular focus of being a playing professional, I know I can get there.

I need your help!

Mounting a campaign as a professional female golfer is a particularly expensive venture.  There simply aren't that many playing opportunities and even at the top of the developmental world (Symetra Tour), pay checks are small and scarce.  At the level at which I am currently playing, an entire purse can be as low as $10,000 with a winners check of $1,500.  Even at the Symetra Tour level, entire purses are smaller than last place finishes in a men's event.

No sob story.  I chose this road, and I'm making the sacrifices it takes to get where I am heading.  It's my job, and playing women's developmental tour golf is my cubicle and the LPGA is the C-suite.  I think of it like a startup business.  I'm the "product" and the brand.  I have COGS like coaching, uniforms, nutrition, equipment and (practice) facilities.  I have operational costs like entry fees (I have to pay to go to work), travel costs (I gotta pay to get there), lodging (and stay there) and a girl's gotta eat.

I'm going to work my tail off, make a lot of sacrifices, surround myself with good people and in 18-36 months be profitable and stable. To help pay my day to day bills, I have a job at Sawgrass Country Club as a Pro Shop Assistant.

Like any entrepreneur, I'm hoping for a few angel investors to get me started.  The pay off for my investors is we get to change the world together.  Along the way, I'll mentor others, give my Three T's (time, talent and what treasure I have) to charities - as I always have.

AND I'll immediately donate 10% of whatever we raise here to Jacksonville's Child Cancer Fund as my down payment on that dream.

Thank you to Dao Fournier Jewelry Design for donating this amazing necklace.  Lucy and Kimberly are kindred spirits, mentors and friends.  Thank you to Orca Golf Bags for donating the runner up prize.  And thank you to How Money Works for offering all who enter this raffle a copy of the greatest personal finance book ever!  And thanks to BKS Partners for always being in my corner.  I am so proud to be the Brand Ambassador for each of you, and am grateful for your trust in me.

Thank you for participating in my raffle.  Your support means the world to me!

Love,
Hannah

If you're the first ticket drawn, you will actually get one just like mine (you cannot actually have mine)!  Here's a cool fact about this necklace: see the two small diamonds to the right of the pendant...those represent the twins, Lucy and Kimberly, owners of Dao Fournier; one diamond each!

  • ORCA Lifestyle Bag of your choice

Erica and Deb Bennett design golf bags and lifestyle bags.  The second ticket drawn will receive your choice of Lifestyle Bag from their catalog.  Cool Fact: The bottom has its own zippered compartment so I don't get dirt and sand on my clean clothes stashed in the upper part of the bag.
