Since Jaylene was 12 she has battled an invisible illness and been given countless diagnoses. Finally in 2016, Jaylene was given a firm diagnosis of MSIDS, Multi Systemic Infectious Disease Syndrome, a system complex of Lyme Disease. Aside from the many symptoms she deals with daily, seizures, chronic fatigue, sleep paralysis, hallucinations and many more, the side effects from the mass amount of medicines she has taken over the years have taken a toll on her and her extraordinary family, both physically, financially and emotionally. But, after all these years, Jaylene finally has hope!
Hypothermia treatment has been proven to rid the body and immune system of the infections that consume Jaylenes body and leave her in a debilitating state. At the end of April 2018, Jaylene flew to Malaysia to undergo her first Hypotermia treatment. It went well, and her progress is a great sign that there is a light at the end of the tunnel for this amazing young woman. Because the infection has already spread through to her nervous system and brain, this treatment is the only chance she has to prevent her organs from shutting down and resulting in a fatal outcome. As Jaylene has battled this debilitating disease for over half her life, she needs to have several treatments to give her the best chance of leading a normal life. Something we should all be able to do.
Hypothermia treatment is expensive ($15,000 a pop), so are the mass amounts of antibiotics Jaylene takes daily to fight the infections ($3000 per month) with no help to battle on from the Australian Government as Lyme Disease isn’t recongnised in Australia.
So many wonderful, generous people have donated gifts to be raffled off to help Jaylene raise the funds she so desperately needs to win the battle she endured for so long. By purchasing a ticket, you will be contributing to save Jaylenes life and also entering for your chance to win one of these beautiful gift baskets. The raffle will be drawn on the 19th May 2018 at the Centennial Hotel in Gulgong NSW, where a fundraising night has been planned. Two talented local artists “Wicked Whiskey” and the “Two Mile Tangers” have kindly donated their time and their awesome talent to entertain us on the night. Raffle tickets will also be available for purchase at the Centennial Hotel between now and the night of the draw.
