Cancer is a devastating illness which attacks not only physically, but mentally and emotionally as well.  Cancer gnaws at our hopes, our dreams, and our strength of will.  Cancer is on the rise.  Our lives are busy ones, with responsibilities to our families, friends, careers, and the recreational activities we enjoy.  Please devote some time toward the research about and knowledge of cancer, and whatever we are able to do to help prevent the spread of this deadly disease within ourselves and our society. There isn't a cure for cancer, but prevention is infinitely better than the standard treatment options of surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, and hormonal therapy.  Please, please do your best to prevent, and remember BEWARE TO NOT BE AWARE.
     Life is a beautiful , but complicated experience. Maya Angelou once said, "life is not measured by the number of breaths you take but by the moments that take your breath away" this is a beautiful thought. I am a believer in this, but in some instances the moments which take your breath away cut like a knife. Experiencing these moments allow you to appreciate the number of breaths you have left to take, and what you are able to do with them. Unfortunately one of these moments has recently occurred for myself and my family. Mary (Mae), my wife, has been diagnosed with an invasive form of BREAST CANCER (infiltrating ductal carcinoma stage 2-a, with mid level aggression). We have chosen to oppose this chronic illness through a combination of spirituality, nutrition, holistic treatments, and medical procedures. My beautiful wife and our family are fighting this battle so that she may once again experience life's wonderful moments which take her breath away, and that our amazing 6 year old son has his "mommy" in full capacity. We are donating our 2018-2019 Saints regular season ticket package (complete with option to purchase PLAYOFF tickets for face value) for a fund raiser/raffle to raise the awareness toward breast cancer, and assist with the on going costs of our fight. Many of the costs incurred are not under insurance coverage. We accept all gifts of entries to this fund raiser with humbleness and gratitude, and for those who are taking the time to read this post but wish not to enter the drawing please remember us in your prayers and well wishes as these are accepted with the same humbleness and gratitude.
