Up until the 2016 Rio Olympics, Fiji, as a nation, had not won a single Olympic medal. As fans and supporters of the team watched the story unfold, on the HSBC Sevens Series, we were filled with a nervous excitement leading up to the Olympics. Then, beyond all expectations, Fiji beat a very good Great Britain side 43-7 to win their first medal of any color, and it was GOLD!
This is one example of how the Fiji team has, time and time again, unified people from different countries, across different barriers, and captured the collective imagination of the rugby world.
We, as fans, would like to show our appreciation by gathering funds for the mens and womens teams, who are inarguably, amongst the lowest paid in any form of team sport.
Please buy freely, ALL funds collected will be handed to the team during the RWC Sevens in San Francisco.
