My beautiful friend, Missy Maag was recently diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Five years ago, Missy's passion for JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) made an impression on me. She explained to me that she got involved for her niece, Alex, who has Type One (T1D). Missy cycles every year in the JDRF Ride to Cure Diabetes ride, pedaling and fundraising for those who are living with type 1 diabetes and helping to create a world without T1D. I got involved through my paintings. Every year, I would paint and donate it to the JDRF gala for auction. Since then, we expanded and held "Art for a Cure" events with proceeds going to JDRF.

After the 2017 100 mile ride, Missy fell ill and after numerous visits to the doctor, she received devastating news that she has pancreatic cancer. After a recent visit, Missy said to me "you know, we won't be able to host Art for a Cure this year..." Despite countless chemo treatments, Missy's passion and belief in this cause is remarkable and what makes her special to so many. Thus, this is the reason I am carrying on a "virtual" Art for a Cure in honor of Missy.

Be part of the change and help turn Type One to Type None! The sale of every painting purchased will go towards funds to help kick Betes for Alex. In honor of Missy, my theme this year is "Flowers for Missy"

Thank you for your generosity.
