We are raising money for what is to become an annual event for us depending on the turn out this year.  Hope For Heroes is a nonprofit group that is dedicated to providing sustainable housing for homeless veterans or those on the verge of becoming homeless to stay afloat.  Not only do they offer services to homeless veterans, but they provided a lot of community based support and activities.  One thing this organization is striving hard to create, are safe and sober events and spaces for Veterans and Community members recovering from substance abuse or living with PTSD.  Over the New Years Eve holiday H4H put together an event titled "Celebrate Sober BYE 2019" which was an alcohol free event, plus it offered a safe place for Veterans dealing with PTSD to escape the noise of the many fireworks going off around the City.

Unity in the Park is an event that we have put together for a group of Disabled Veterans who are have struggled with PTSD, or other physical disabilities for years, and have not been able to really go out in public due to fear, anxiety, and depression.  Everyone attending this event has gone through various individual and group therapy sessions and have graduated to be able to venture out and enjoy life again.  This event will also be a major milestone for a few of the attendees, as it will be the first social interaction that they have had in over a decade.   We want to make this day as eventful as possible for them that is why we decided to have it at Carowinds Amusement Park (Where the Carolinas Meet) on a special opening day with limited admissions so that park goers can ride the newest addition to their roller coaster family "Copperhead Strike" the first Launch coaster in the Carolinas.  All ticket sales will go towards making this event possible and any remaining funds will be donated to another nonprofit in our area Veterans Bridge Home.
