This beautiful, immaculate piece of history measures approximately 83” x 72” and was entirely hand-made in 1944-1945. The pieces were constructed by sewing strips of silk onto squares cut from newspaper. Once the square was finished, the newspaper was torn from it and the pieces hand-sewn together. It is on consignment from the husband of the late master quilter who made it and sells for $600.
