Deer Hunting Details: 2026 will be our 36th season hosting deer hunts on Kodiak! These hunts are 8 days and 7 nights long. Hunts begin on Saturday mornings with chartered flights directly to the boat. The boat is usually located at the south end of Kodiak Island in the Olga Bay area. Through years of experience, we have found that leaving the boat on-site and flying in is the best method to maximize your hunting opportunity. The price of our trips include RT floatplane flights between Kodiak and the boat. From there the adventure begins!
Once onboard you will be briefed about the boat and either get in an afternoon hunt or kick back and relax. From beach hunting to mountain hunting, to stand hunting, the area offers a wide variety of options and environments. Kodiak Island supports a population of over 70,000 deer. Due to several mild winters in a row, these populations have skyrocketed. Days start with a hearty breakfast, then board our high speed, 22’ aluminum landingcraft for skiff transport to that day's chosen location. Hunters are usually dropped off in pairs with a handheld radio for safety and/or early pick-up. A bagged lunch will be sent with you each day. As you return to the boat later on in the evening, a hot dinner possibly consisting of New York strip steaks, BBQ ribs, baked ham, buffalo bites, and of course, your venison if you so choose, will be ready! There are many hunting adventures available to you throughout the week. See below for more details. After a long week of hitting it hard, Friday afternoon provides time for boxing your meat and capes in airline boxes in preparation for a Saturday afternoon flight back to Kodiak.
Disclaimer: These hunts are Self-guided, and we do not allow proxy hunting per Alaska Fish and Game Laws. The weather on Kodiak is very unpredictable.

This vessel is manned by two Coast Guard licensed masters and a deckhand with years of experience in the Kachemak Bay and Kodiak area. We pride ourselves on creating extraordinary adventures for our customers. After a long day of hunting or fishing, there is truly nothing like watching the sunset over the water!
The Mini Maid, HOC Services’ dedicated landing craft, plays a vital role in the success of our bear and deer hunts by safely and efficiently transporting hunters from the main vessel to shore. Purpose‑built for rugged Alaskan conditions, the Mini Maid is designed to handle tidal flats, rocky beaches, and remote coves with ease, ensuring reliable access to prime hunting grounds that would otherwise be difficult to reach. Its shallow draft and sturdy construction allow hunters, gear, and harvested game to be moved comfortably and securely, minimizing the challenges of shore landings. Whether delivering hunters to coastal areas for glassing bears or positioning them near Kodiak’s deer habitat, the Mini Maid provides seamless ship‑to‑shore logistics that maximize time in the field and enhance the overall adventure.
