Our friend Alejandro had a serious accident while competing in thethe US Open of Paragliding in Chelan on July 11, 2019. As a result of hitting a dust devil while coming in for a landing he has a compound fracture of his Tib/Fib and a broken back.
Alejandro is a great pilot, paragliding instructor, husband and father. He move to the United States a few years ago to leave the oppressive government of Venezuela and is living here under refugee status. This has made it very difficult for the family over the years.
Alejandro has an infectious smile and is always willing to help everyone in their flying and enjoying the beautiful sport of paragliding.
The treatment for Ale's injuries is going to be extremely expensive and take a long time for his recovery.
Please help us raise funds to help them cover their medical expenses and help with living expenses during this trying time for this wonderful family.
Cal Breed a extremely talented professional artist and paraglider pilot has donated a beautiful scuplture he calls "Gaggle". It show the tight knit community of free flight and how they come together for each other when in need.
This raffle will have only 100 entries at a price of $100 each. We just changed the price of the tickets to $100 to help garner additional support. All those who had already purchased tickets now have double the number of entries.
The drawing will be during the closing ceremony of the Hurricane Open on December 31, 2019.
The Prize
Gaggle by Cal Breed
“Gaggle,” displays a few gliders moving up together as they share the same air. I wanted this one to represent the tight knit community of free flight and how they come together for each other when in need. Whether it is coming together to find lift or coming together in Alejandro’s situation to support him, there is a great sense of brother and sisterhood.
