ANEW Living
ANEW Living offers a unique approach to meeting the housing needs of our community by converting older distressed motels into affordable housing alternatives.  The units and small apartments available at ANEW Living are offered as a step up from the traditional transitional housing facilities.  Our goal is to end the cycle of homelessness by providing on-site services geared towards renewing and restoring hope to individuals and families seeking to end their cycle of homelessness and build pathways to a healthy productive lifestyle of self-sufficiency.

Why is ANEW Living Initiating this raffle?
  1)  A donor has made available a completely restored Ford 1966 Mustang Convertible for us specifically to use as a Raffle Fundraiser.
  2)  This Raffle "Race 4 a Place For the Homeless" will give us the needed sustainable resources to assist our clients, continue to improve our facilities, create funding programs for special needs families, and look to the future to establish additional sites within Arizona.

This year ANEW Living is focusing on converting our larger living units into more family-friendly studio-style living spaces to better accommodate the needs of our homeless working poor family population in Flagstaff.  The conversion will add a kitchenette with additional storage and a standard sink (rather than using a bathroom sink for food preparation and cleaning dishes). The kitchenette gives them a food preparation and cooking area that helps promote a healthier lifestyle.  Electrical upgrades are also needed to support a larger refrigerator as well as adding new electrical lines and GFI outlets for safe usage of appliances.

The goal of ANEW Living’s Family unit Expansion Project is to increase the number of family units available for homeless families in Northern Arizona.   Flagstaff’s single intake unit known as the "Front Door" reports there are over 100 applicants in the Flagstaff area waiting for housing. ANEW Living is the only transitional housing program that allows for two parent families, single dads or mothers with teenage sons. We serve all the homeless working poor but this sub-population group (families) is given a higher priority. Our long-term goal is to convert 13 of our 21 units to family friendly studio-style units. To date, we have converted five units and this year our goal is to convert four additional units.

The Prize

  • 1966 Ford Mustang Convertible

A donor has provided ANEW Living with a beautifully restored 1966 Ford Mustang that took more than six years to complete.  There was no bolt or nut left unaddressed.  Some of the highlighted details of the restoration are listed below.  The donor likes to call this Mustang a "Resto-Mod" which simply means the vehicle is restored and modified to operate in a better then original way.

     - The non-original 302 Ford engine was completely rebuilt and restored to a fresh running engine that, let's just say, provides a little more "ummph" then the original.
     - The believed-to-be original automatic transmission was refurbished as needed to new or better condition.
     - The front brakes were upgraded to disc brakes to improve stopping and the ride of the vehicle.
     - An upgraded, brand new air-conditioning system was installed to make the Mustang comfortable on hot Arizona days. This A/C unit operates more efficiently then the original and draws less power.
     - A complete new interior was installed.
     - All body panels were assessed for corrosion. Any panels showing signs of corrosion (rust) were replaced.
     - The radio looks like an original but it's NOT,  it's a new USB, wireless radio that has AUX capabilities with an AMP and great sound.

This is a rare opportunity to own a beautifully upgraded and restored 1966 Mustang Convertible.  ANEW Living will limit the raffle ticket sales to 500 tickets, giving raffle ticket buyers amazing odds to own this 1966 Mustang Convertible.

There is a high amount of interest in this Mustang! At first glance you can easily see the craftsmanship in the restoration.  Please refer to the pictures and see what could be yours for a mere $100 investment that also helps families work their way out of homelessness!
