Flight Club 502 is a non-profit 501 (c)(3), based out of Bowman Field (KLOU), Louisville, KY. It is dedicated to teaching teens about leadership and success through realistic goal setting in aviation and through Next Gen/STEM education.
The organization was established in 2015 by a group of high schoolers who wanted to inspire other students to succeed while incorporating aviation and STEM subjects as a springboard for that success. Flight Club 502 is owned and operated by youth members with professional adult supervision.
We have 500 youth members, 264 kids soloed, 129 Private Pilot Licenses, 6 Instrument ratings, and counting! In the past 12 months we offered programming to 1500 youth outside our organization! In 2019, we built an RV-12 that was flown to Oshkosh in a UPS 747 aircraft to be displayed!
Spring 2023 James Hall was the lucky Grumman AA1B TR-2 Raffle winner! James came to Louisville to visit Flight Club 502 and flew the plane down to his hometown with one of our "home grown" CFI's! Congratulations James!Spring 2023 Winner! Fall 2022
