Flight Club 502 is a non-profit 501 (c)(3), based out of Bowman Field (KLOU), Louisville, KY. It is dedicated to teaching teens about leadership and success through realistic goal setting in aviation and through Next Gen/STEM education. 
 
The organization was established in 2015 by a group of high schoolers who wanted to inspire other students to succeed while incorporating aviation and STEM subjects as a springboard for that success. Flight Club 502 is owned and operated by youth members with professional adult supervision.

We have over 450 youth members, 246 kids soloed, 122 Private Pilot Licenses, 6 Instrument ratings, and counting! In 2022, we offered programming to 1200 youth outside our organization! In 2019, we built an RV-12 that was flown to Oshkosh in a UPS 747 aircraft to be displayed!

  • Grumman AA1B or $20,000

    The first Grand Prize: The first Grand Prize choice is a 1975 Grumman AA1B TR-2 with 4173.58 hours total time on the airframe. The Lycoming O-235-C2C engine has 2173.58 hours SMOH. The Avionics include ADSB-Out, Comm MX11 TKM, Narco AT 165 TSO, Genave Alpha 200 Navigation, PS Engineering inc PM series 1000 II, Garmin Aera 660 GPS, and Garmin GDL-50. 

    This aircraft has been professionally maintained by an IA mechanic. The plane’s value is estimated to be $35,000. Prize must be claimed by June 30, 2023. The airplane has a current annual. Documentation to be provided with the airplane includes an FAA Certificate of Airworthiness, all logbooks, Bill of Sale, and IRS forms. 
  • Fighter Pilot for a day

    The Second prize consists of a Fighter Pilot for a Day Experience. Suit up and strap in with Lieutenant Commander Paul White, former Navy fighter pilot who is also a UPS Captain with thousands of hours of experience. This flight will take place at Bowman Field (KLOU) in Louisville, KY. The winner will have one year to schedule the flight at a mutually convenient dated and time. This prize is valued at $5000. Prize must be claimed by June 30, 2023.
  • iPad Mini and 1-year subscription to ForeFlight

    The Third Prize consists of an iPad Mini  with a cellular chip and a one-year subscription to ForeFlight Basic Plus. This prize is valued at $1,000. Prize must be claimed by June 30, 2023.
