Inclusion Works (formerly Down Syndrome Association of Southern Oregon) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that has been serving nine counties in Oregon since December 1979. Our mission is to provide peer to peer interaction and enhance opportunities for people of all abilities to be included in their community. Our vision includes a world in which all individuals, including those with disabilities, are accepted, valued for their uniqueness, respected for their abilities and contributions, and assured the opportunity and choice to create their own path to fulfillment and success.

Inclusion Works has five services that we offer: quarterly socials, a book club, kindness assemblies, Reading About Me!, and the Buddy Program/ Peer Mentor Program. Each quarter, Inclusion Works puts on a socials for families, friends, caregivers, and community members as a way to support one another through social interaction. The Book Club designed for individuals of all ages and abilities and is held on the second Tuesday of every month. Each month a different story is provided, as well as an activity for individuals who experience disability. Kindness assemblies are a way for Inclusion Works to spread the message about the importance of inclusion and treating others with kindness. Reading About Me!, RAM, is a beginning reading program specifically designed to hold the interest of visual learners. This program was created by our organization. Currently, our greatest focus is to work in our local school districts to provide the most inclusive environment for all students utilizing our uniquely designed Peer Mentor Program. This program pairs K-12 students within a school building together to help support academic and social learning, foster inclusion and facilitate access to the general education to the benefit of all participants.
