Hi there, Big Wood Friends!  It's that time of year again......it is the Big Wood School's Annual Fundraising Raffle.  In the past, we have raised money for our Security and Front Entrance Remodel, our Art Room Renovation, our Playground Upgrades, our Extraordinary Extracurriculars, our Scholarship Fund, among other awesome improvements we have made each year.  
This year has been one like no other.  By the grace of God, we were able to reopen our doors for Camp Big Wood 2020 on June 1st and have remained in operation ever since.   Many adjustments had to be made to ensure the health and safety of our students, staff, and extended school families.  But, thanks to the cooperation and compliance of all, we have seen very few cases of COVID-19 at Big Wood School and have prevented any spread stemming from our community.   
The vast majority of changes we have implemented have caused dire consequences on our budget and bottom line.  Limiting class sizes, increasing staff hours, establishing COVID pay for staff when they have been required to test and quarantine due to exposure or symptoms, and refunding tuitions when we have been forced to temporarily close a classroom while awaiting test results have left us with a significant deficit.  But, thanks to some incredibly generous donors that stepped in to bridge that gap, we have been able to continue to provide the education and care for our students and give them a pretty "normal" school year in a really abnormal time.   
Our fundraiser this year will be targeted at raising money to help balance our operating costs as we move forward and remain under our current protocols, policies, and procedures.  All raffle sales will go directly into our school and will allow us to continue to thrive and be prepared to face any new challenges that may arise.
