At DSUK, we believe that taking part in adaptive snow sport has the power to transform a person’s relationship with not just their disability, but with all aspects of their lives. Our expert adaptive instructors deliver over 3000 ski or snowboarding lessons a year across 4 main schools in indoor and outdoor slopes across the UK. We believe that all people have the right to access the unique physical, mental and social benefits of snowsport, regardless of disability, injury or experience.
Last year saw disabled communities disproportionately affected by the global pandemic while DSUK schools shut their doors. According to The Health Foundation, disabled people were more likely to feel lonely and anxious. The easing of restrictions has allowed DSUK to bring adaptive snowsport lessons back to slopes to continue positively impacting the mental health and self-confidence of our members, which is more important now than ever before. This, however, comes at an additional cost of safety measures and equipment, for which DSUK relies on our dedicated supporters.
To help us tackle the impact of the pandemic on the charity, we have organised this raffle with lots of exciting prizes and we believe the wider snowsport community can help us continue the vital work we do.
