The American dream Recovery foundation corporation A public non profit 501c3, was born from the fact that we were helping needy people repair or replace their roofs. Mainly low income and natural disaster victims. Low income families have the most difficult time repairing their homes if they have any kind unplanned maintenance issue. The have the same issue if they have a mechanical issue with their car, often times they lose their job because they cannot get back and forth to work. In fact we have found in many cases they cannot afford to repair it and they end end up neglecting the problem until it’s unrepairable in both instances with their home or their car.
When the Clendenin flood hit in our backyard we realized that there were so many more people in need of home repairs that we were able to help on our own. Including a number of our employees.
It’s so much easier to sit in the side lines and do nothing
I fist saw the power of nature when I helped an employee clean up his house after a flood in the 90s and if you've never been in a house after a flood you cannot fathom the destruction
I’ve been on the phone with a cousin in Houston during a hurricane watching the news and giving him updates for days about where to get gas. What was going on in his city Where was it safe to go.
Fast forward 20 years and I have multiple employees and friends that had 12 plus feet of water in their homes. My sister’s in laws were on the front page of the la times and I had tears dripping down my face and I knew enough is enough We had to do something about this
Then I realize I can help more than I know it’s like my whole life has been aligning myself to help Car business - the most important thing in a persons life to begin to rebuild If you can’t get to work you can’t recover Roofing / construction - if you don’t have a roof over your head you cannot rebuild Hotels / Short Term Rentals - you need a place that’s dry safe and a place to rest so that you can restore
We have are currently accepting applications for low income families in West Virginia that need their roofs replaced.
This raffle has been put together to help fund our continued efforts to help those in need. Please help us by purchasing a raffle ticket. Up to 80% of your ticket purchase price is tax deductible. If your feeling especially helpful we accept donations as well.
