The Black and White Ball is an annual celebration hosted by the museum commemorating the anniversary of making historic Tony’s Conoco the museum’s forever home. In June of 2003, the Crested Butte Museum moved from the Sopris house to the heart of Crested Butte, preserving the old hardware store in the center of town.
As with most quintessential Crested Butte celebrations, attendees break into their costume trunks and don their finest black and white attire and dancing shoes! This year, we're getting the Black & White Ball rolling (quite literally) and will have a mobile celebration on June 27th, 2021 from 4pm-6pm. This will serve as the kick-off to summer in Crested Butte and the start of the raffle.
Ticket sales will begin at 4:00pm on Sunday, June 27th, 2021 end at 4:00pm on Saturday, July 31st. The raffle drawing will be conducted at 6:00pm on Saturday, July 31st at the Crested Butte Museum located at 313 Elk Avenue in Crested Butte, CO and broadcast virtually. A single raffle ticket costs $5.00 with an additional processing fee of $0.50 ($5.50 total), or a 6-ticket packet for $25 with an additional processing fee of $1.00 ($26.00 total). All online purchased tickets will be entered into the drawing and there will be no duplicate tickets or hard tickets sold. A purchase confirmation and your individual ticket numbers will be emailed to you within 1 hour of the purchase. Winners do NOT need to be present to win.
All prizes will be emailed or a pick-up time will be arranged. Winners will need an ID or a ticket number to redeem their prize. Winners will be announced in the following ways: outside of the building during drawing, broadcasted on Facebook Live (a link will be emailed to all participants 15 minutes before the drawing), on our website at www.crestedbuttemuseum.com, on the Crested Butte Museum Facebook page, and winners will be contacted directly by phone and email with the contact information provided. If winners do not claim their prize or arrange a pick-up time within 30 days of the event, the winners will be notified by US postal service certified mail on how to redeem their prize. If winners fail to redeem their prize, the prize will be retained by the museum to offer in the next raffle.
