We are asking friends and family to participate in our fundraiser for Kelvin affectionately known as Troubble.
In 2014 Kelvin was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure.
In 2018 Kelvin was admitted to the hospital because he couldn’t breathe. The doctors told the family that there was nothing else they could do. Those who know the family know we are persistent. We immediately transferred him to a different hospital for a second opinion.
It was the best decision we could have made to date. Once in the hospital Kelvin was assigned a team of doctors that reevaluated his condition and gave us a few options. His team of doctors came up with a solution to bridge the gap until we could find Kelvin a heart. The doctors surgically implanted an LVAD, a battery-operated, mechanical pump, which helps the left ventricle (main pumping chamber of the heart) pump blood to the rest of the body as an interim solution to stay alive. Days after the LVAD surgery, doctors insisted there was a need to implant a cardioverter defibrillator and pacemaker based his response to the LVAD.
Two years post-surgery, Kelvin is finally a candidate for a heart transplant. As we complete all the criteria to be placed on the transplant list, we need to ensure the cost of medication post-surgery is covered.
This is where we can use your help! To help cover what's not covered by insurance we are charged with doing a fundraiser by his medical team. Unfortunately, Covid-19 has stopped us from doing a blowout party in true ‘Troubble’ form.
We are going to raffle off a TWO liquor baskets each valued over $200.00. You can purchase tickets @$10.00 each or 3 for $25.00 and you can invite your guest at your discretion.
The sale of tickets will run from July 16 ,2020 until July 31,2020. Winners will be drawn randomly, announced and notified on August 1, 2020. The first name drawn selects their basket of choice. Arrangements will be made with the individual for delivery or pick-up.
Thank you so much for you love and support in advance. We promise to keep you posted on the rest of our journey to getting Kelvin back to great health!
Sincerely,
The Bey Family
